Tetun is the lingua franca of East Timor. The Constitution of the Democratic Republic of East Timoradopts Tetun and Portuguese as official languages. English and Malay (Bahasa Indonesia) are also spoken in East Timor. Malay is probably spoken by more people than Portuguese or English. Portuguese is being taught at schools and is part of the official curriculum.

The main services offered in this page will translate documents in English, Malay, Portuguese and Tetun. Oral translations in English and Tetun are also offered.

Document Translations

In accordance with the standard orthography set out by the National Linguistic Institute of Timor-Leste.

Oral Translations

In Tetun and English only.

Rates:

US$25.00 per hour

(if less than 4 hours)

US$150 per 8-hour day

(between 7 am to 5 pm)
